The mission of the Spring Branch Management District is to promote business expansion in the area that builds a stronger, more diversified economy and increases the economic vitality and wealth of the community. The mission will be accomplished through:
- Assisting, wherever possible, in providing enhancements to the infrastructure and other support services to retain and encourage expansion within our existing businesses and encourage new businesses to locate within the District,
- Working with our community education and work source partners to develop and/or enhance the availability of a skilled workforce,
- Supporting entrepreneurial activities and programs and the expansion of small businesses, and
- Supporting relationships between strategic partners in the business and residential communities.
The Spring Branch District, in conjunction with the Houston West Chamber of Commerce, held a Business to Business (B2B) Breakfast on March 10, 2010 at the HEB at Bunker Hill and IH-10. The event drew over 50 attendees who were given an overview of district services by Executive Director, David Hawes. City Council Member Brenda Stardig and Spring Branch Business and Economic Development Director, Victor Alvarez also provided updates and informed attendees of future plans and projects within the district. The breakfasts are planned to be a quarterly event, with the next breakfast slated for June. Anyone interested in receiving more information on the breakfast can visit the home page and sign up for RSS feeds or the district newsletter.
